In Vermont we stayed in South Hero. From there we went up Rt. 2 through the Grand Isle area over to Rt. 108 via Rt. 78. If you ever get the chance, Vermont route 108 is a beautiful drive but try to do it on a day where there is nice weather. It's a very narrow and sometimes steep road. (although paved :)) From there we shot across Vermont and New Hampshire over to Bangor Maine.
